We live in the mountains and sometimes our lights can flash 3-4 times during a thunderstorm with occasional power outages. After our power pole caught fire and damaged many of our appliances, I figured if I could help it wouldn't happen again. I bought one like this for every major device in our house (and the main thing for me is how much inconvenience and expense it will cause me if it breaks down). Since then they have helped us weather many storms and outages. I like the fact that there is a built in power on delay to protect against power surges until power is permanently restored. Good product !
