Definitely works! on Office Furniture & Lighting
I used this stopper to secure my barn doors when we come in from the garage. I was impressed that it actually worked! We build and had contractors all day. At one point we had a gust of wind through the house when the back door was open, the stopper did its job and held. Make sure the magnet gap is less than the maximum of 13mm (1/2 inch) or you will have trouble if it doesn't snap. I chose 10mm (3/8 inch) and it works fine.
