I bought this for a closed porch screen door so the feral cats we have relocated can easily get in and out (the porch should have a new home there but after 3 weeks they had other ideas and ripped the screens out of a few windows!). After removing the patio door I just followed the instructions and it was pretty easy. The only problem I had was not being able to securely connect the two sides before attaching the screws. The screws are tiny and didn't seem to want to go through the screens that easily, so I poke small holes, and that not only helped me figure out where to go since, as I mentioned, splicing together doesn't work for me. , it also allowed me to push them through without resistance. I left the valve open the first night to allow them to get used to their new entrance, then I put the valve on and opened it a little a few days later and then let it close completely. Exactly what we were looking for and if a 58 year old woman with average engineering skills can do it herself then it should be easy for anyone.
