I made a custom sized handmade envelope out of letter size paper. The more accurate metric scale allowed me to set the size better than the inch scale. Since I wanted to use a smaller square than recommended, I set the paper at the starting point (9mm) twice - in both the first and third counts. This made it more symmetrical. Folding over the count seemed to give a prettier line. I used a light hand and the trailing edge of the creasing knife on thinner paper.
