This is the filter you need if you have a bpy 2.0 Turbo VW. The only filter I have used on my 07 gti and I will not switch to any other. I bought a car for 60,000 and now 142,000. I change the oil at various intervals between 3000 and 4000 miles depending on how the engine feels. Use Mobile 1 0w-40 which I buy from Wally World for $23. Never had a filter damage and my car drives great. Oil and filter changes extend the life of your vehicle. The oil darkens fairly quickly, but the viscosity remains the same.
