I bought this for a reason to clean the record player platter of dust and lint before turning the record on for playback. Ever since I got a Nitty Gritty vacuum cleaner, all my records are washed and vacuumed. The Record Roller picks up particles well from the record, although it would be better if it was a bit bigger. While it picks up dirt and dust well from the LP surface, I don't see how effective it would be as a deep cleaning device. Wet mopping is required to effectively remove fingerprints, oil and mildew.
