Works perfectly! in Cleaning & Repair

I was skeptical but this stuff really works! I have a good system where I only play new records (unused vinyl). All new entries are covered with garbage. This thing will remove all dust as well as fingerprints and other stains. It takes some getting used to. Huge sound difference. I was a little worried about leftovers but I don't notice them. I don't think it would be very effective for cleaning used records, but it works great for new records or for a quick touch up!

Pros
  • Test for one year
Cons
  • Not as thick as the others

Nice little tool for the vinyl collector

I bought this for a reason to clean the record player platter of dust and lint before turning the record on for playback. Ever since I got a Nitty Gritty vacuum cleaner, all my records are washed and vacuumed. The Record Roller picks up particles well from the record, although it would be better if it was a bit bigger. While it picks up dirt and dust well from the LP surface, I don't see how effective it would be as a deep cleaning device. Wet mopping is required to effectively remove…

The best record cleaning accessory for the money!

Probably the best and most efficient vinyl record cleaning tool. I use 2, I have a cork mat for the dust trap and another for the vinyl. I have a cleaning machine as well as ultrasonic cleaning most of my vinyls before use, this device helps reduce the dust factor. I hit the mat once before I play anything and I use that for vinyl too and before I tip the vinyl back into the inner sleeve there is no point in putting dust in the sleeve which is designed to keep the dust out. A big plus is that…

Brush/felt alternative LP

The pickup roller is a miniature version of the large washable/reusable lint rollers sold for clothing and furniture. For vinyl records, the instructions on the packaging are to gently grasp the handle and gently place the roller in the grooves of the record for 2-3 turns. To clean and reuse, simply rinse in warm water, shake and air dry. Do not use wet cleaning. This is not a deep cleaning tool, just an alternative to a standard brush or felt cloth for picking up light soiling. In other words,

  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • boring packaging

belt drive? Use the brush first.

If the belt is spinning your record, you should use a brush to get that dirt line and then use a roller on the dirt line. Also works for cleaning stains (strands of hair, bits of food, rare diamonds that can constantly spawn) when the disc is NOT spinning. It really stopped the ride on the Pro-ject TT with Music Hall Cruise Control 2.0. To make it spin easily enough for a belt driven TT with smaller motors, I started thinking about bearings for skateboards, inline skates, etc. Now the cost has…

Pros
  • Top marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • Functionality

Works well. must be used in conjunction with other tools.

I'm starting to realize that vinyl dusting solutions aren't universal and need to be stacked to be used together. If you had told me a year ago that I would buy $15 or $20 record cleaning tools that looked like what you buy at the dollar store, I would have called you crazy. But here I am rolling a $15 lint brush over the vinyl. I have previously bought a record cleaning brush which basically pushed the dust out of the grooves (to an extent) and removed it from the record. only to leave a…
