Try using it instead of the included plastic tool that comes with the filter. I have an oil drain valve on a sump with a hose and wanted to be able to drain all the oil into a container without spilling anything so I got this for the filter as well. It seems well made however, when I first started using it the length of the tip that goes down the drain of the filter seems to be too long and it goes down the drain before making a seal leading to it that oil was leaking everywhere. Tried to pull it out and use it again faster and hook the threads so it drains into the pipe. There is still plenty of oil leaking around the part before the threads engage and send it down the pipe. Thrown away after first use. I'll try another option or just use the included plastic piece that comes with the filter.
