Comparison of BMV-172 and SmartShunt in Grid Point Designs
Ecoflow, GoalZero and Chinese companies use disposable components in their power generators. Grid Point Designs uses Victron Energy. While the Smartshunt is Victron's latest battery monitor with no external display, the original BMV-712 with display has functional differences. The Grid Point power supply is available with any Victron shunt: - The BMV-712 has a programmable voltage controlled relay. The relay has been removed from Smartshunt. - BMV-712 has a Bluetooth sensor on the display. Smartshunt has a Bluetooth sensor in the shunt itself.
