This item is an essential Dremel accessory, especially if you use a Dremel Workstation Mini Press for drilling. I just got one to develop a light fabrication project that is too small to justify the money and space required for a full sized drill press. The standard collet/chuck that comes with the tool isn't really designed with the precision required for high speed drilling and is a bit wobbly which can result in your drill bits drilling larger holes in your material than they should, for example. Some people may not care, but for my little project this is a critical point. This chuck (Made in Germany) offers a HUGE improvement in accuracy over a standard Dremel collet/chuck and will hold those tiny Dremel bits much more securely and in better alignment when the tool is rotated. VERY important, especially at high speeds. I tried drilling some experimental holes in excess material with a standard chuck and was very disappointed with the results. so much so that I feared I made a mistake buying a mini press. However, after removing the chuck/collet and replacing it with these, I saw a huge difference in accuracy/performance. This tiny little accessory was ultimately the deciding factor in my use of the workstation for this project. Very satisfied!
