Review on 🎵 Crosley Silver Belt-Drive Turntable C100A-SI with S-Shaped Tone Arm: Adjustable Counterweight for Optimum Performance by Evan Calvert

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Quality turntable at a bargain price

I bought this turntable because I needed a direct drive turntable with a detachable head for easy cartridge swapping. The player was packed in a double carton without any transport damage. Installation took minutes with no problems. Plugs into an outlet with no wall warts. The power supply is inside the player (this is a plus for me). The aluminum disc runs smoothly, quietly, without hesitation. There is a built-in flash and the speed never fluctuates! This is a fully manual CT, so there are no automatic features. The dd motor revs up for a second. There is pitch control, but this motor is servo controlled so it never needs tuning unless you intentionally want it to go slow or fast. S-shaped aluminum tonearm with adjustable counterweight, anti-skating and cue arm height adjustment. This is useful for large cartridges. The tonearm is equipped with a gimbal (gimbal) suspension and has no friction. The dust cover is a nice thing. The hinges are metal and all seams are painted light blue. Looks very attractive and professional. It's made of thick plastic and has two rubber bumpers so it closes silently. The player accommodates the included 45rpm adapter and spare cartridge/head. The turntable is a wide body, similar to the Technics 1200. The cartridge is an AT-3600L with a 0.6 mil graphite-reinforced stylus. Playback quality is superb, with no wow effects, jitter or speed spikes. All my amps have phono inputs so I didn't use the preamp that came with them. Four legs absorb and dampen vibrations well (you can walk on the floor and not jump). He skips jumping or dancing. It comes with a nice thick felt pool mat that can be flipped over if you don't want to advertise the THE CROSLEY logo. The turntable weighs almost 12 pounds, so it's no wimp. The turntable is manufactured by Hanpin Electron. It's basically a DJ-45 so you can go to their website and get all the specs. The only problem I noticed is that the cue lies next to the arm clasp and closes easily. I have owned this turntable for about 4 months and am very happy with the performance and sound quality. Currently $163.00 is included without tax. You'll be impressed, I was
