Leaves a sticky residue

In general, I'm a fan of 3M tapes, including their Super 33+. However, 33 is much "stickier" than Super 88. If your application may require you to remove the tape at some point, or if you use tape to temporarily hold something in place, then I strongly recommend you don't To do buy this version (Super 33) and buy Super 88 instead. My experience is that 33 is much more prone to leaving unwanted sticky marks that stain or leave marks on some plastics and other similar smooth surfaces. With Tape 88 I didn't have this problem. When I say "tacky" and "residue" for Tape 33, I mean the adhesive residue on the back of the tape. It's painted black and you'll have a hard time getting rid of it if it decides to stick to something you don't want to stick it to. The disadvantage of the 88 is of course that it is significantly more expensive; and for that reason if I just want a baseband that I won't erase (at least I won't) then I'll most likely use 33. However, if I have an application where I know the tape is likely to be removed in the future (e.g. a temporary electrical connection for some reason) I strongly prefer Tape 88. This is especially true for outdoor work . Humidity and higher ambient temperatures appear to increase the stickiness of the 33.YMMV tape.
