This two-port USB hub is ideal for doubling a single port with low power consumption. I found it useful for connecting a keyboard and mouse without having to use two ports on my main powered USB hub. It should be noted that this is not an externally powered hub, so do not use any power-hungry devices on it. The cable is long enough to put the hub where you want it, but not so long that it's unwieldy. The distance between the ports is sufficient. They're pretty close together, but not a problem for devices with reasonable profiles or regular USB cables. Bulky devices are likely to be a problem. The hub worked right out of the box with my Windows computer, so no additional drivers were required (although that's rarely the case with hubs).
