I bought this for my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee which had a strut that was no longer holding the hood open. Removal and replacement couldn't be easier. Probably less than 1 minute from opening the hood to installing a new one. The hood closes easily and now when I open the hood it automatically raises the hood, which the OEM has never done. Super easy and worked great.
