Enhance Hood Lifting: Strongarm 6485 Hood Lift Support (1-Pack) Review

My old shock broke so I bought this one to replace. It was very easy to install, just needed a second person to hold the hood on my Jeep while I changed it. It comes pre-lubricated with silicone grease to prevent corrosion. Very durable and looks solid, overall a very good product.

I have used other brands in the past but have only used the StrongArm brand for the past few years. Always plays great! Installation is easy and it took me about 5 minutes to remove the old cowl brace and install this (alone). It's easier to install with a helper holding the hood while you turn it off.

I have a 2014 Grand Cherokee Limited. The product was easy to install, fits perfectly and works as it should. There were no instructions in the box so unless you're mechanically inclined you might need to visit You Tube or ask someone for help. Simply pull the clips on either end to remove the old one and install the new one. Literally less than 2 minutes to install.

I bought this for my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee which had a strut that was no longer holding the hood open. Removal and replacement couldn't be easier. Probably less than 1 minute from opening the hood to installing a new one. The hood closes easily and now when I open the hood it automatically raises the hood, which the OEM has never done.
