I have an expensive one that I bought in 2010, it's fantastic but heavy. However, I now have a ladder and am older and need a portable device that will clean counters, bathrooms, window sills, etc. Not floors, grout, carpets and not for a long time. That's why I ordered Bissell. It came quickly, well packaged and with detailed instructions. Although the parts are plastic, they all fit and look well made. Unfortunately the water wasn't heated enough so there was no steam - just hot water. As this is an inexpensive unit I wasn't expecting much pressure but my kitchen sink produces much hotter water than this unit and you can see steam coming out of the water as it comes out of the spout. I know what real steam does to dirt and bacteria from my larger, more expensive machine that I use for floors, grout, carpets, baseboards, etc., and this machine doesn't come close. I bought and returned a laptop for the same price and it had the exact same issue. I was hoping it would be a module but now I realize my hopes have been exceeded. Simply put, you get what you pay for. Maybe Bissell will improve with new technology, but for now I wouldn't recommend it for steam cleaning.
