Instructions in Fine Print. I don't have vision problems, but you may need a magnifying glass to see the print. It's pretty easy to set up. We have a very stubborn French bulldog who will gnaw and ruin our child's toys, rip food out of our hands, jump onto the dining room table and be spoiled with our food in no time. Yelling, redirecting, and forcing the dog off the table (or whatever he did wrong) didn't work. I finally got it. We set it up and tested it before using it. I watched and laughed as my husband tested it on himself before we used it on our dog. The hit is STRONG, EVEN AT THE LOWEST SETTING. We didn't use the shock function and will probably never use it. Unless you have a dog that acts like Kujo and rips your limbs to pieces, I don't really see the need for a shock function. Start gently and see if your buddy responds to the beep. If that doesn't work, use the vibrate feature. I like that the collar has a switch to disable the shock function. Please be careful with this product.
