Review on πŸšͺ Dorman 38434 Door Hinge Check Pins - Set of 4 Compatible Pins for Select Jeep Models by Eddie Sanchez

Revainrating 2 out of 5

weak metal. Out of specification

Needs one size up as they are not wide enough to allow a tight fit for the bracket or door lock assembly. I installed them in my front doors. I bought regular mounts to replace the dropped originals. I installed the passenger door first and immediately noticed the play as well as the pin and assembly. So before installing the driver's door, I placed the pin with a small screwdriver. When installed (like the passenger) the pin bent at an angle of 60*. Luckily they give you four. I pulled it out, eventually installed another one and noticed that the driver's door was just as free of play as the passenger's door. Went to a dealership and bought a Mopar. It was immediately noticeable that the OEM pins were wider and the pins themselves were placed a hair higher. Replaced the stationary pin with a Mopar and the clearance between the pin/bracket and pin/assembly on the passenger side was gone. There was still a gap between the pin and assembly on the driver's side (needs to be replaced) but the shackle/pin was tight and secure. Even replaced the rear passenger pin with the original pin and everything fit snugly between the old bracket and the new pin.
