Review on πŸ’ͺ Efficient Pitman Arm Puller: OTC (8150) Conical Design for Easy Removal by Chris Lujan

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Worth the money: Puller

Bought to dismantle the bipod on the Mercedes 450SL. Fit well and work great. The Mercedes airlock is very narrow and will require some effort to remove. This tool did it with ease. The method I used was to increase the tension on the puller and then tap the connecting rod with a small hammer. Then tighten the tool a little more and tap again (not really with a hammer, just tap and relax your hand). Repeated this and it lifted the shuttle with little effort. It's worth the investment to have the right tool rather than bending those cheap plier pullers to do this. Oh, one piece of advice I'd like to give is that I put some lube on the puller screw threads and insert and remove the screw by hand before using it. Just wipe off the excess anti-seize (you don't really need much) before sitting down and using the tool. Screw in and out smoothly under tension or not.
