This keeps the oil safe and (at your own risk) for purposes other than oil changes in vehicles.
If you use it to change the oil in cars, I highly recommend it. It's simple but effective. If you are using this for medicinal purposes and want to store the oil in this pan to eventually use to replace your blood, I do not recommend this. There are no markings on the plastic indicating its use for these products. I've done this successfully and haven't experienced any side effects so far, but I won't advise others to do it. I was desperate.
