Review on Dorman 38416 Door Hinge Pin and Bushing Kit - 1 Pin, 2 Bushings, and 1 Clip | Compatible with Cadillac, Chevrolet, and GMC Models by Ron Chang

Bushings are NOT a problem, broken bushings are an installation error. See below.

After probably 5 years of double slamming the door of my willow stick (1993 Chevy K1500) I was finally fed up. This is a very simple solution to a sagging door. It took less than 30 minutes to install and I felt pretty lazy trying to ignore the issue. Use a jack to balance the door while you pull out the old pins and remove the old bushings. Maybe ask someone to hold it on a jack so it doesn't fall off. But I had no problems. Now when installing new bushings: they are thin, made of brass and very fragile. Like the original bushings. If you hit them with a hammer or even a brass spike, they will most likely break. Go to the Dorman product website, locate the part number, and then refer to the Technical Information section for installation instructions. It would be nice if they put them in a box, but they didn't. Basically you have to press them in with a screw, washers and a bushing. Insert the bushing and screw the screw through with the washer. Then, on the other side of the hinge plate, install a socket (I think I used a 9/16, 1/4 drive flat socket), another washer and screw on the nut. Tighten and the bushing should pop in easily.
