Review on πŸ”Œ TP-Link Archer T1U AC450 Nano USB Wireless WiFi Network Adapter: Windows/Mac OS Compatible, 5GHz Only, Black by Antonio Fox

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Doesn't work on Windows 10, waste of time. Leave!

This doesn't work with Windows 10. Not at all. The big problem seems to be that there is no fully functional driver for Windows 10. (A driver is software that connects your computer to whatever you connect to it.) Windows 10 usually automatically installs the correct driver as soon as you connect itβ€”not new hardware, but Windows can't find the driver. Next, I used the installation CD that came with it and followed the instructions to the letter - and hooray, Windows recognized the adapter and let me choose the network to connect to! .Except he couldn't connect to any of those networks. Public, private, 2.4GHz, 5GHz, WPS connection, password entry, T1U always gave errors no matter what WiFi network I chose. It turns out that TP-Link even has its own page stating that the T1U isn't compatible with Windows 10, but has advised users that they "can try installing the Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 driver manually." to install". Guess what? However, these drivers did not work. πŸ˜‘ Don't buy this if you have Windows 10. Others might have better luck, but even the MANUFACTURER isn't sure if this will work with Windows 10 - that's a sure sign you need to abandon it. (PS, one small point in case you're not using Windows 10: this thing doesn't fit properly in USB ports, it's just too big which makes it VERY tight: plugging it in feels like something is going to break, and it needed two hands to remove it.)

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Almost never

A rocky start, but in business for now.
