I'm only giving 4 stars in response to complaints about the tripod. It's really not strong, if stretched at all. It is difficult to maintain a constant angle (elevation or azimuth). So far I'm happy with this scope. I've used it quite a bit, but it does a good job when looking at the moon. This shot was taken with an iPhone 6 held to a 10mm eyepiece, so it's unlikely to be a quality setup. I originally bought this scope because I was looking for something cheap and portable. I live in the suburbs of an average city (population 250,000) so light pollution robs me of most of what I can see. I wanted something I could just pack in my car and take to a darker place without the hassle of transport and 20 minutes of setup and teardown. It is very small and easy to carry with a backpack. It sits perfectly on the hood or roof of my car when I want to stand it up and all I have to do is remove a few lens caps and insert a lens, 5 minutes max. All in all it does what I want so far, and at a price that even beats crappy toy store telescopes. The tripod is my only complaint.
