The assembly is good, the smell is strange

For the price, this item seems incredibly high quality. How and why is it so difficult? It is very easy to use: 8 settings are clearly marked on the spring-loaded knob and are easy to adjust. I got good results when I first tried fettuccine by rolling out the dough on speed 3 and cutting it into strips with a knife. (100g flour + 1 egg + drop of olive oil + pinch of salt is the recipe I used; leave it in the fridge for a day or two after kneading. It may take on a gray cast, but it won't go away) This has doesn't affect the final look or taste.) I'll probably try to make it even thinner next time. A small amount of flour will help keep the pasta from sticking together as it dries. Use them immediately or let them dry individually before freezing or refrigerating for a few days. Next: pasta dryer. Even after washing before first use, it smells quite strongly of chemicals. There is an oil/grease smell but that hasn't stopped me from using it and I'm hoping it will fade over time.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Expensive
