Cabin filter BMW E46 (3rd series)

What can I say about this filter? It was very easy to change and fit perfectly. On my 2005 325ci it's at the very back of the engine bay just forward of the bottom edge of the windshield. There are a couple of rotating connectors that need to be twisted to remove the cover. Pay attention to the orientation of the curve when removing the old filter. Yes, this filter is not rectangular but slightly curved to fit the profile of the windshield. Since I used to have my car serviced at certified BMW service points, this filter was changed at every service, whether necessary or not. Where I live the air is not that dusty so the old filter still looked like new. I didn't notice any difference in the airflow in the cabin, but maybe it can do more than just filter dust since it's activated carbon. Since it provides the air you breathe in the cabin and it's not an expensive filter, it might be worth replacing even if it doesn't look dirty!
