I wasn't sure what to think when everything was set and all the settings on the plug took less than 5 minutes. Disappointed isn't the right word - I was just expecting the typical IT scuffle that goes along with setting up most of these smart devices. I guess I was just looking for catharsis after mentally preparing for the fight. However, this is not required. The plugs connected quickly on the first try and immediately showed up in the Home app. They're very responsive - there's no noticeable lag between switching states and seeing/hearing. Perhaps best of all, no registration is required to create an account, the Eve app is really only needed for pairing, the Home app syncs instantly and another user in your home can control it without installing Eve too have to. Appendix. Oh, energy reports are nice. Now I can drop my Kill-A-Watt. Are they slightly larger than other smart plugs? Yes. Are they worth it? Fully. If you're looking for a smart plug that integrates seamlessly with the Apple ecosystem, buy it.
