Review on Monoprice SB-100 2.1-ch Soundbar - 36 Inches with Built-in Subwoofer, Bluetooth, Optical Input, and Remote Control - Sleek Black Design for Enhanced Audio Experience by Darryl Buck

Great price - great sound. At least it will be better than your built-in speakers.

This soundbar is NOT trying to compete with high-end offerings like Sonos, Bose, etc. This is a Monoprice product, so value is the goal. It doesn't sound nearly as good as a Sonos panel (I installed them) but that's fine - it doesn't try to be a Sonos panel and costs accordingly. However, it sounds MUCH better than built in. in the speakers of our 43 inch small class LED HD TV from Samsung, that's all that interested me, so I'm very happy with it! Based on where we have our TV which is in that brick alcove/recess next to our fireplace, 43 inch is the largest TV we could get and unfortunately I think everyone wants super large TVs because apparently there aren't any be a high-quality 4k or OLED TV of this size. It's just not a top-of-the-line TV given the size, even though it's a Samsung, so the sound isn't great either. It's not bad, but I wanted a soundbar from day one. In any case, another caveat to mounting the TV is that there's only about 2 inches of space underneath. It seems to be the ONLY soundbar thin enough to fit underneath and the height of the speaker is actually the only reason I bought this particular soundbar. Of course most of the time I slide the speaker in front of the TV because I slide it under the TV The TV kinda defeats the purpose as this soundbar has some overhead speakers, but the TV sits on the armrest. So when we tuck it back into the niche, it's nice to have the soundbar right below it for a nice, clean look at an elevated level. don't want it, so the speaker generally overlaps the front of the TV.
