When the transducer is tethered to our big boat in 30 feet of clear sea water, the transducer reads 30 feet in traditional sonar mode, as do the instruments on board the big boat. The traditional sonar view also shows passing fish. In panoptic mode, depth is displayed with errors twice the actual depth. That alone makes him completely unsuitable for me. Another negative review mentions it's useless in salt water and that might be a problem, but for me it's a waste of money and thankfully Revain has agreed to allow returns.
