I bought two of these units to mount in the long hallway of our house. In my opinion, these devices are worth the higher price given the following advantages: their smaller size, photocell technology and 10 year battery life! The device is very easy to install: (1) Turn the device counterclockwise. from the bracket. (2) Remove the card from the holder and discard (used for shipping only). (3) Use the supplied screws to fix the mounting bracket to the wall/ceiling. (4) Write the installation date on the blank label attached to the device. (5) Rotate the device clockwise back into the attached bracket. You should feel the device snap into place. After successful installation, the device will be activated. When the device is switched on, the Power LED lights up, then the LED flashes and a beep sounds.
