I like how big it is! I ordered this because my 2 year old woke up in the morning and came out of his room very quietly and started rummaging around the house before I woke up. This completely fixed the problem. He will try to climb it, but the wire mesh will hurt his legs if he puts weight on it. It's not spicy or anything, just uncomfortable. I noticed a review where someone said the stick broke trying to pinch it. And it's true, like most baby gates, the wood is brittle, but if you stretch it properly, it never breaks. I was too lazy to measure the distance so I just started at the first recess and climbed one until it held the gate in place. If you exceed the required size by two pitches, I'm almost certain it will break. But even if it seems like there isn't much tension when you press the stick, it should still stick to the wall. They snap and hold perfectly. My toddler tested them by pulling and pushing and they didn't move at all. I needed a taller gate for my son but wish it was just a bit shorter so I could step over it. I'm 5ft 4" and can't step over it which is a little annoying when I have to undo and redo it all the time I use it. If it were a little shorter it would be absolutely perfect. Overall, I'm very happy with these goals. They stretch out so I can use them in the kitchen aisle. The price is very very low and the wood can be brittle but I've paid more for worse. If you know how to use it properly and UNDERSTAND that it shouldn't cause as much stress, it's a great tool when you have a toddler running around. I hope my review will be useful to you!
