I love this doorstop! We have an inside tailgate that we basically have to close to keep the air conditioning inside. Sometimes we have to have it open, which causes problems. Our previous solution involved automatic door closers, which are often found on barred doors. It worked great when the door was closed, but not so well when we had to keep the door open. We turned the knob to turn it off and the door was open... until someone closed the front door of the house, which would create a vacuum effect and force the back door shut. (Old houses have personality!) Then we would have to wedge the doorstop under the door to prevent that. and try to force the door shut by bending the bar. Enter that door, stop. You can easily turn the doorstop on or off with your foot. It's very durable and works great at any level of opening, although we know the floor is uneven. Now nobody touches the automatic closer, so it can't break. We don't have to find and touch a rough doorstop either. It's such a small product but it really makes life here easier!
