If you're using a camera with a factory power supply, you're bound to spend your time troubleshooting! I made this mistake and every time my camera turned on, my wireless keyboard and wireless USB dongles got cold! And nothing but a reboot solved the problem. I contacted WaveShare (the maker of this little camera) and their support is pretty reasonable. After speaking to the company I ordered a 3 amp power supply with a new power supply directly from Revain (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00ZHGQ8A8?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00). connected, I ran a tiny Python program that captures images every 3 minutes and automatically uploads them to my remote web API. The picture quality in near darkness is amazing! The program has been running automatically for a few hours now and I have no problems with it at the moment.
