I needed a replacement due to broken wires on the original thermistor. Robo 3d R1+ creates a voltage point where the thermistor enters the brass body. The solution was to order their kit from Robo for less than shipping parts. After making sure it gave reasonable readings (tested with a hair dryer) I reamed the case and fitted with JB welding. Instead of using plastic tubing, which caused the break in the first place, I used JB welding to reinforce all the joints. It is now strong enough to withstand any insertion and removal of printheads without presenting a high risk factor. Sure, you can break it with enough abuse, but it's orders of magnitude better than the original. What pleased me the most was not having to repeat the thermistor calibration for Robo. If you get this for a different printer you might need to calibrate it depending on what it's replacing, but it fits other common parts so you might get lucky. The attached photo shows JB welded to prevent breakage.
