Strong magnetic base and very reliable and very precise instrument.
The magnets are very strong. One star rating in the reviews, probably because the person didn't know how to remove the panel from the base. protects magnets. The plate is held in place by magnets and some force is required to lift it off the base. After removing the protective plate of 4 magnets, the tool also holds very strong magnets. Very reliable and very accurate instrument.
