Review on 🐠 Aquatic Arts FilterPlus: Enhanced Bio-Media Aquarium Filter by Kayla Schmidt

This is my first time using any of the natural biocarrier options, but I went with this one. To be honest it only works for me. I haven't tried other options like matrix, bioblock or live rock etc. Most of my filtration needs are met with various types of sponge filter media and biobeads, but I still need more filtration to deal with some overfilling and a few splashes of ammonia here and there. I can't comment on whether these other products are better or worse, but after using them for a year between separate purchases and tracking everything, they seem to live up to their claims. I've had no breakage or dissolution of the rocks, I didn't need and saw no reason to clean them for debris of any kind, and he stabilized a severely overcrowded 80 gallon with a small custom sump containing a 3" turtle, 3 large goldfish, 6" Pleco, 2 dozen mixed minnows, and very few plants that help the biosphere, so overall I'd say I love this product for that reason alone. but I also have some to add to my 30 gallon shrimp tank and mine Added 55 gallon general purpose tank which sometimes struggles when I can't do regular tank maintenance from day to day life and I've been happy with the results.This isn't an excuse for poor service but let's face it when it makes life easier it's a win if it does the job - that was my thought before buying and it has worked for me Most of the mounted rear filters feel u underdeveloped or simply absent often. Even with the quiet multi-stage Tetra Whisper EX power filter (after all, I grossly overpaid for it locally) there was more fluctuation on my heavily planted 55 tank than it should be, spare parts bad, I keep going and going and could probably do it keep it up but again it works for me and apart from a bit of dust in the shipping box and a few rocks that floated when I first put it in the water I have no other issues with it. I didn't even bother washing or rinsing them before putting them in my tanks to avoid contamination.
