Save your child's teeth and buy something with matching rubber soles for running shoes. I'm not usually the type to worry about minor/possible but unlikely "hazards" in children's toys and clothing. However, these shoes are DANGEROUS. Period. Don't buy them. A layer of soft, fluffy material is applied to areas of the rubber outsole, allowing these kids' sneakers to slip and slide across the floor. They have no clutch and are EXTREMELY DANGEROUS. My 2 year old immediately slipped and hit his face. For reference, he has been running for 10 months and runs around the playground for hours without falling. This is not the case if "children sometimes fall". I wish I had read the other reviews here: a shirt stretched over the soft material that makes up the shoe.
