UPDATE: After posting a 3 star review I was immediately contacted by TEKCOPLUS who offered me a partial refund for my inconvenience. I was impressed. I declined the generous offer because the device works so well and upgraded it to 4 stars. After adjusting the LED, the unit worked well enough, gave stable readings, and I could use it with confidence on multiple variable speed machines in my shop. Nice design and function, poor factory quality control. Curve LED. I will never pass the final exam. I'm an EE so it was easy for me to diagnose and fix. USEFUL now that I've taken it apart and aligned the LED myself. I liked the case that came with it, very easy to read instructions on glossy paper. Five stars if it works out of the box. Took me a few minutes to analyse, disassemble, set up the LED to point straight ahead (long legs, easy to adjust), swap out the front/lens/window - retest passed. Works great now. It's worth the money even though I had to fix it before it worked. By the way, the front just comes off, no glue, screws or welded plastic. Break off, bend LED so it points straight ahead, test, reattach front, test again = happy now.
