I switched to glass lids because I didn't like plastic in the microwave. Other glass lids on the market are thin glass with edges that break off easily. Many times I've accidentally bumped into the microwave door and had to throw my food away because broken glass fell off. I finally replaced it with this one and I love how thick and durable the pyrex glass is. It feels like it will last forever like most pyrex glass bowls. As well as being an excellent lid, it can also be turned over and used as a dish. The lip is wide and strong, making it easy to grab. Curved edges allow air to circulate without splashing. I recommend this over other glass lids on the market. Go with it from the start and you'll never have to buy another one again.
