Not for arthritis of the hands.

This sharpener sharpens colored and regular pencils well. I have osteoarthritis in my hands. The sharpener is small, which is good if the pencil moves in circles when sharpening. I find it a bit difficult to hold the pencil steady while sharpening. My rating is 4 stars for sharpening and 1 star for difficulty of use due to hand issues.

Sharpens artist colored pencils to a very nice point which is perfect for fine detail in my art.
