I wanted to add WiFi to my home setup; I have purchased several Mikrotik products over the years and with one exception they have been excellent. (The only exception was a device that didn't turn on when it arrived.) Mikrotik's hardware seems like the polar opposite of your usual consumer networking hardware. Netgear, Linksys, DLink and all the other old and familiar names never seemed to be more than junk aimed at the bottom end of the market. Many of the parts didn't survive long before mysteriously dying. The only way to get decent software with these boxes is to try the messy world of DD-WRT/OpenWRT. But Mikrotik hardware seems to be the exact opposite: great features, great reliability, and great prices. I set up my new Mikrotik HAP AC2 box in less than 30 minutes in my somewhat unusual environment. It worked like a champ. Thanks Mikrotik. You have made online communication a pleasure.
