Obviously most people these days aren't interested in connecting a display port to legacy technology like a 70 pound CRT monitor, but that's why I originally bought the adapter. First version, resolution is limited to a maximum of 1280 x 1024. For me it's "no bueno". I have a couple of CRTs that natively output a very high resolution of 1600x1200 at 85Hz. So don't expect this adapter to be able to do the job that more expensive VGA scalers actually do. However, for typical applications like connecting an old LCD monitor via VGA or connecting a laptop to an LED/LCD panel, this works great. Admittedly, it was my own fault for not delving further into active/passive adapters, so I'll be choosing something better in the future. Other than that, I don't really use it, so it's currently in my toolbox.
