Suitable for controlling an iPod from an older JVC head unit. Please note that your receiver is designed to listen to music from a CD changer. Management is simple and cumbersome. You cannot move albums up and down as if they were folders on an SD card. You'll have to navigate back and forth through each song because they're all in the iPod's root directory. To select an individual artist or album you have to go through a simple menu. You can, but you can't look at the road while navigating iPod. Also, the CD changer never required power from the main unit. This adapter will not charge your iPod. You'll need to unplug your iPod every few days and then charge it (depending on how long your commute is). I have used an iPod nano (SSD drive) and the response is very fast. When you select the next song, it starts playing immediately. iPod response is faster than main unit LCD refresh rate. I just want JVC to make a modern version of my old KD LH-910. Small fonts and SD card options are great. The big limiting factor is that it only recognizes up to 1GB of data per card.
