I purchased this item to use with my existing JVC HD CD receiver. Installation on the Mazda 626 was easy and took about 15 minutes. I routed the iPod connector cable to the glove box and kept the iPod Classic plugged in the entire time. It's out of sight. The JVC device controls the iPod as described by JVC, which is more of a fancy menu than an Apple-style intuitive interface. I have a JVC head unit that plays MP3 files from a CD. It was great for audio books, but I wanted to be able to continue the book while doing things like mowing the lawn, so I bought this adapter to take my books with me.
