I love this stuff

I use it for paintings and coasters. It's expensive so I usually buy more. If you know you're going to be doing a lot, it's best to use larger bottles. However, the shelf life after opening is about 6 months. So I recommend smaller bottles if you're only doing one project. My husband and I make coaster sets, I make coasters. He makes nice boxes to put them in. All you need is about 1 ounce of hardener and 1/2 ounce of resin each. Since I make 4 coasters and a top tile for each set, I use about 5 ounces per set and buy more to get a price of about $1 per coaster. We make 20 sets for Christmas gifts. This resin does not emit smoke, so you can use it around the house. It has a longer pot life than many resins. Does not yellow. It's important for me to use it at home because I can't stand the summer heat in Louisiana for long. My husband used resin on a piece of furniture that got hot and actually melted the container he was mixing it in. This resin doesn't get that hot. Be sure to scrape the sides and bottom as you stir, and for goodness sake, stir the full 3 minutes. Make sure you have a torch to shoot at the surface that pops all those pesky bubbles. I use a stove burner. The resin website has videos and ideas on how to use it, and answers almost all of your questions about it. My clients love the resin in my paintings. Colors appear simple and eliminate the need for framing. My understanding is that this resin can withstand temperatures around 120 degrees, so it won't work for coasters, which is what I thought of.
