This replaced a G.E. MWF for less than 50% of the price. Fit perfectly. It did take a little longer for the water to clear of the minute charcoal particles than the G.E., but for 50% of the cost of the G.E., I can afford to waste an extra gallon or two of water during the break-in period. The G.E. model does do some additional filtering besides just odor/taste (see website for specs) but if you're on municipal water and just looking to get better tasting water, it can't be beat for the price. The biggest "pro" for me was that it was made in the USA!
