Review on HD 102 Powered Splitter Certified Support by Tim Ram

I bought this to record on PS3 with my Elgato, it worked but never worked well. First, it tries to be a "smart" splitter that turns on the output when it "detects" a device on it. The problem is that it doesn't recognize some devices properly like my mCable or even my old TV, so I spent hours trying to figure it out. The splitter needs to be turned on or off and NOT trying to detect a cable that will not work at all with that cable. This is all redundant, however, as in just over two weeks of use, which is maybe 18 hours, one of the ports has already failed. It all started with strange artifacts and lines and now moved to a black screen, hiss and crackle. Already tried changing cables, switching on and off and sensitive electronic cleaners, but none of that worked. The port just failed completely. Garbage!
