Availability I installed this solenoid kit on my daughter's 2008 2.4 liter 4 cylinder G6 engine in early October 2019 due to the discontinued codes P0013 and P0014. Since then she has driven the car about 3,000 miles with no problems. I'm a former GM tech so this job was a breeze as I've replaced many of them in the past based on mileage and codes. The replacement is not difficult or time consuming and can be completed in around 30-40 minutes if done correctly. I suggest you have some engine repair experience before trying it. Be sure to use good quality tools to avoid damaging the small screw heads as they are stuck and sometimes difficult to loosen. ***** FIRST STEP DISCONNECT BATTERY NEGATIVE! ***** After removing the engine top covers and accessing the solenoid area at the front (right) top of the cylinder head, the areas around the solenoids must be cleaned with compressed air or an aerosol cleaner prior to removal. This will prevent dirt and debris from entering the holes after removal and damaging the internals of the engine. Carefully disconnect the wire harness from the old solenoids, being careful not to break the small tabs. They become brittle with time and heat. Remove one solenoid at a time. They can be difficult to remove and you will need to use a screwdriver to pry them out of the hole as the seals snap into place. Be careful not to damage the head surface or other surrounding parts. A penetrating lubricant can be used to help loosen the seals. Wait about 5 minutes for the fat to soak in. Be sure to remove all grease before installing new solenoids. Take the correct matching new solenoid out of the box and lubricate the seals with clean oil before inserting into the hole to help seat the solenoid fully in place. surface to the head. Tighten the mounting screw with your fingers to prevent twisting the threads. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN THE MOUNTING SCREWS! Torque according to manufacturer specifications. Connect electrical connections carefully. Connect the negative pole of the battery. Delete all stored codes. (This can also be done prior to servicing. Disconnecting the battery will not erase stored codes.) Start the engine and check for leaks before replacing the engine top covers.
