Review on Tacx Flux Smart Bike Trainer by Matthias Foxx

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Was good until it broke, poor support

This car was good until it broke after 2 weeks of ownership. It was used by my mother, an elderly woman who weighs very little. The aluminum block cover that bolts to each side of the bike frame mount was damaged when it came loose while using the machine. The cover in question was on the cassette side of the device. Because it's made of softer aluminum, it didn't damage the steel threads on the Tacx block itself. However, the threads on the lid were destroyed and unusable. From my observation the rest of the unit is intact so I think I just need to replace this block cover which is listed on the Garmin website for a reasonable $9. The problem is that this item is out of stock/on order and I can't find the source of this part on this planet. I spoke to Garmin support and they couldn't help me at all and now I have a useless piece of broken technology. More than a month has passed since then. I bought another trainer from another company as there is no other choice. I am asking Garmin to resolve my parts/supply issues. We only had 2 weeks to use this item before it became a total waste.
