They are good quality, thicker and stronger than I expected. I used a 1" Forstner bit to drill a shallow hole for the bracket and then used a 1/4" bit to make a slightly deeper channel for the screw head to fit. I actually had to make the channel a bit longer than in my picture to get the screw all the way in and supported by the bracket. I used two of these to hold a 6 foot long 1x6 growth chart vertically on a wall. They support the board easily. I look forward to many more projects with these brackets.
