DeLonghi confused many of its customers when it appeared to be discontinuing its old descaling agent in favor of a new formulation, "EcoDecalk". However, I have verified that the product code listed in my user guide is correct for this new version. Also, it's the only descaler offered on the DeLonghi website. By the way, DeLonghi's list price is $14.99 at the time of this post, and they offer free shipping on orders over $25. In other words, you can save $$ if you order 2+ bottles directly from them. I only wanted 1 bottle and accidentally ordered a few products from Revain so felt more comfortable adding this to the list. As for efficiency, I can't say for sure. My new machine's owner's manual says my warranty is conditional on use of this product, so I have every intention of doing so. To be honest, I prefer the special Durgol Swiss espresso descaler that I used on my previous DeLonghi espresso machine. It costs about the same but comes in a handy measuring bottle, taking the guesswork out of pouring the solution into the water tank. DeLonghi recommended this product for their espresso machines before they made their own descaler available for purchase.
